I hesitated outside the house. Was this really the best idea? It looked completely abandoned. Surely there wasn’t anything of value in there.
“What are we waiting for?” pressed Serana.
I gave her a look. Then, almost by accident, my eyes drifted to Poe. She didn’t look afraid or worried. In fact, she looked rather prepared. I felt a sense of uneasiness shiver through me. I shook my head.
“Let’s go,” I nodded for them to follow.
As soon as I stepped through the doors, I wanted to turn right around. There was almost no light. And despite the lack of furniture, the house felt incredibly cramped. I felt as if I had to monitor my own breathing, for fear that I would inhale some poisonous fume. I glanced at Serana, who seemed un phased by the suffocating aura that surrounded us. I looked back down at Poet. Little Nav provided the only light near us. I took in a breath.
“Poe, I want you to wait here,” I said quietly.
She looked up. Somewhat to my surprise, she didn’t ask questions or argue. She simply looked up and nodded wordlessly. I patted her shoulder and she stepped back a few feet so that she was as almost against the wall.
Serana and I continued forward, silently, until we came to the back room.
“That was probably wise,” she said, “leaving her there.”
I nodded. “I would rather not take chances when I can help it.”
The room was empty, save for two wardrobes and a small shelf. I scanned the walls and noticed a stack of papers on the shelf at the end of the room. I stepped forward, and right away something wasn’t right. I felt something crunch beneath my boot.
“Don’t look down,” Serana warned.
But it was too late. I saw beneath my feet a litter of human bones. Fresh and deteriorated. I stumbled backwards from the shock. Human bones went scattering and crashing into the bases of the wardrobes.
“What’s going on?” Poet called from the other room.
“Stay where you are, Poe!” I demanded.
“Are you okay?”
“Poet, don’t move!” Serana repeated.
I took in a breath and pinched the bridge of my nose.
“You gonna be alright?” She inquired cautiously.
I nodded. “Lets just get this done.”
Not particularly eventful but... enjoy anyway

This is really really good! Your writing is top notch and you write all the scenes soooo very descriptively! Just like Gimili, Vahl couldn't stop herself from looking down... XD
